An exciting update has been announced for the upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026). Jon Bernthal has been added to the cast list as Frank Castle, AKA The Punisher! Spider-Man, played by Tom Holland, must team up with an “unexpected ally” during the film. Whether this ally is the Punisher, Daredevil, a related vigilante, or someone from a different universe is unconfirmed, but this update provides options. Joining Bernthal and Holland in the cast are Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned, as well as Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas as unconfirmed characters.
The primary antagonist of the film hasn’t been announced yet. The events of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) opened several avenues for Brand New Day (2026) to take following the opening of multiple portals to other universes. The end credit scene with the smidge of symbiote being left behind by Venom and Eddie when they were restored to their proper universe provided potential as well.
