Kevin Feige has opened up about some of his plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After the mixed to lesser success of films such as Thunderbolts* and Captain America: Brave New World, he has announced that Marvel Studios will be scaling back on productions. The Infinity Saga produced around 50 hours of content, which more than doubled in the six years since its end. Though Feige spoke positively of the Multiverse Saga’s experimentation, he was critical of the expansion of the MCU, stating, “It was a big company push, and it doesn’t take too much to push us to go, ‘People have been asking for Ms. Marvel for years, and now we can do it? Do it! Oscar Isaac wants to be Moon Knight? Do it!’”

Many productions have been delayed already; Feige has stated he’s staying at Marvel, and reconfirmed Dr Doom’s Status as the next big MCU Villain. Miles Morales isn’t planned for the MCU, as he remains under Sony.

In related news, Feige has praised rival superhero movie Superman, attributing its success to its accessibility. “I love how you just jump right into it,” he said. “You don’t know who Mr. Terrific is? Tough. You’ll figure it out. You don’t know what this is? Just go, go. This is a fully fleshed-out world.” It appears as though James Gunn’s MCU days aren’t that far behind him.
