The Fantastic Four: First Steps is the newest Marvel movie currently out in theaters. While the Fantastic Four has been adapted two other times, this is the first time they are officially introduced into the MCU. This won’t be the only time we see them, however, as they will return in Avengers: Doomsday. Recently, Kevin Feige talked about Marvel’s first family role in the upcoming Avengers movie.

According to Kevin Feige, the fun of an Avengers movie is introducing people to each other and seeing how different personalities get along. He also mentions that the Baxter Building had four people in it, in the Fantastic Four movie, but in Avengers: Doomsday, there are “a heck of a lot more people” in the building. Feige began his Marvel career with the X-Men movies, and it was a dream that finally came true to revisit some of those original characters. “Deadpool & Wolverine scratched the surface of that. And now we’re delving into it with Doomsday.”.

Not only did he talk about the Fantastic Four in Doomsday, but he also talked about their importance and one of his most memorable days on set. He said they were only able to be brought into the MCU after Disney's acquisition deal with Fox. They were a missing element for years, and that no Marvel universe is complete without them. He recounted his most memorable days on set and said it was when he walked into the Baxter Building for the first time, particularly in Sue and Reed’s living quarters. “It’s a reminder that they’re not just superheroes. They’re not just astronauts. They’re not just celebrities. They’re a couple and they have a bathroom and they get ready to go to bed at night, which is as human as it gets.”
