San Diego Comic Con brought a handful of surprises for fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender, as fans got their first look at the upcoming series ‘Seven Havens,’ and it was revealed that the voice of Zuko, Dante Basco, will be returning for the next arc of The Dragon Prince.
While new announcements and details on the upcoming The Last Airbender movie, an interview between IGN and showrunners Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino would drop a massive reveal surrounding the casting of Invincible’s Steven Yeun. It was announced this past March that the Academy Award Nominated actor would be joining the cast of The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender, with many fans (ourselves included) speculating that he’d be reprising his role as Avatar Wan from The Legend of Korra, which was debunked during the interview, with the his role being one that nobody could expect.

During the interview, it was confirmed by Konietzko and DiMartino that Steven Yeun will be the voice of Firelord Zuko in the animated film, which is currently in production. This means that the Gaang will be voiced by an entirely new cast for the film, which will focus on these characters in their adult years, with Eric Nam as Aang, Jessica Matten as Katara, Roman Zaragoza as Sokka, and Dionne Quan as Toph, with Dave Bautista cast as an unnamed antagonist.
It had previously been reported that Dante Basco is set to return as Zuko for the movie as well, making it more likely that he will still be portraying a younger version of Zuko in scenes set before the main events of this movie
The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender is set to hit theaters on October 9th, 2026.
