Bananas! A new Minions film, the latest entry in the Minions film series, which was originally spun off from the popular Despicable Me film franchise, is on the way, and a trailer for the upcoming film was dropped during this past weekend’s Super Bowl. A brief synopsis of the new film, entitled Minions 3: Minions and Monsters, describes the film as featuring the Minions searching for classic movie monsters such as The Mummy, as well as other legendary creatures such as H.P. Lovecraft’s iconic Eldritch Horror, Cthulhu, causing loads of mayhem in the process:

This is the rambunctious, ridiculous and totally true story of how the Minions conquered Hollywood, became movie stars, lost everything, unleashed monsters onto the world and then banded together to try and save the planet from the mayhem they had just created.

The film will be directed by Pierre Coffin, who voices the iconic banana-shaped characters, as well as having directed the first Minions film. Casting for the film has not yet been announced and/or published on IMDb.com as of yet. The film is currently in Production and is expected to be released in theaters in a few short months on July 1, 2026.
