Naomi Osaka's Production Company Hana Kuma And Rebel Maverick Team Up To Develop 'Allure: The Evening Primrose' Anime Adaptation

Tennis Star Naomi Osaka is taking a deep dive into the world of anime, as Deadline announced that she and her production company, Hana Kuma are partnering with Rebel Maverick, led by writers and producers Matt Nicholas and Natassja Kalyn to develop an anime adaptation of ‘Allure: The Evening Primrose.”
Created by writer and musician Sinitus Tempo, Allure: The Evening Primrose is a sci-fi action manga following young assassin Akane Koizumi as she seeks out “Allure”, a drug that enhances one’s senses and abilities, but finds herself in the crosshair of master assassins known as “Death Bringers”. The manga was produced by Noir Caesar Entertainment in 2021, and in 2022 Tempo would produce a spinoff/sequel webcomic titled Allure: Queen of the Night which is still ongoing.

While she is now attached as a producer, Naomi Osaka will also serve as the voice of Akane Koizumi in the anime adaptation. Additionally, Johnny O’Bryant, founder of Noir Caesar Entertainment will serve as an executive producer, and writer Kenny Byerly (Big Hero Six: The Series) will write the story.
Hana Kuma and Rebel Maverick are expected to bring Allure: The Evening Primrose to market sometime this year, and considering the gradual rise of black manga and anime, here’s to hoping this anime adaptation makes its way to screens in the coming years.
