The Next 'One Piece' Next Arc Release Date Announced & Big Tease From Eiichiro Oda

2026 is shaping up to be a big year for One Piece, with the Live-Action series making its return on Netflix, WIT Studio’s anime remake deep in production, and the main series undergoing some big production changes. It was announced not long ago that after 26 years, One Piece will no longer air new episodes every week year-round, transitioning to a Seasonal Model of 26 episodes per year, versus their usual 40-45, allowing for the series to improve its already impressive production quality as well as its pacing. This transition makes One Piece the last of the Big Three to make the change, with Bleach officially switching to seasonal when it returned in 2022 for the Thousand-Year Blood War, and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations going on an extended hiatus back in 2023 while the manga continues production.
During Jump Festa, Toei would debut the trailer for the first season of One Piece produced on this new model, The Elbaph Arc, taking the Strawhats into a land inspired by Norse mythology.
As with previous years, One Piece mangaka Eiichiro Oda would also have a message for fans, which teased that the Strawhats are closer than ever to a place only the Pirate King has reached, with fans suspecting that the end of this best-selling manga will soon be on the horizon.
Check out Oda’s message here (translated by @sandman_ap on X):
"Regarding anime film, I have not been told that I am allowed to say this, but this cannot really be called smooth progress. Still, this might make people say, “Oda actually said it, hurry up!” haha. It is definitely a topic many of you are curious about, so please wait very patiently.
Since it is Jump Festa, let me talk about the manga itself.
After a very long flashback, or rather after letting you learn a bit of history about Elbad, we return to the present. As we come back to the present, the way Elbaf appears should become clear, and then **boom**, we end it in a flashy way. From here on, things become very tough.
We are heading to **that island** which only the Pirate King was ever able to reach!!? The man marked by flame will also appear. Characters who never had the chance to meet will finally encounter each other. Those two will meet, and those two will meet as well.
Next year might be an encounter festival. The story will move at high speed, but without realizing it I have grown older, so while also taking care of my own life and health, I will continue sailing at the highest speed One Piece has ever had, steady and powerful, again next year. What lies ahead is a festival. Please look forward to it very much."
One Piece’s Elbaph Arc is set to premiere on April 5th on Netflix and Crunchyroll. The series is available to watch on Netflix, Crunchyroll, and Hulu.

This month, the anime adaptation of My Hero Academia came to an end after nine years, eight seasons, four movies, and an ongoing spinoff series. With 2026 being the 10th anniversary of this modern classic superhero story’s TV debut, Toho Animation and mangaka Kohei Horikoshi announced that a commemorative episode is in the works.
This special episode, titled ‘More’, is set to adapt Horikoshi’s bonus epilogue chapter, exploring the lives of Deku, Ochaco, Bakugo, and the rest of Class A eight years after their graduation. This epilogue chapter was never published in Shonen Jump, instead being exclusive to the manga’s final volume, which was released earlier this year.
In addition to this announcement, voice actor Yuki Kaji, who voices fan-favorite icy-hot hero Shoto Todoroki, teased that MHA fans might be in for another surprise on April 3rd, the tenth anniversary of the anime’s series premiere, with some fans speculating that another epilogue project could be in the works.
Alongside this announcement, it was revealed that fans will soon be able to experience the action-packed, emotional, and heroic score of My Hero Academia live, as Toho announced the My Hero Academia in Concert World Tour, which kicks off in Yokohama on May 30th. Future dates and locations are expected to be revealed in the near-future.
