Doomsday' And 'Dune 3' Presales Setting Records Already

As reported by The Wrap, sources are claiming massive ticket presales for some of this year’s biggest remaining releases.
On the Disney front, the MCU has been performing very well recently with the incredible success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. It appears that this, and the recent trailers for Avengers: Doomsday, might ensure the MCU has even greater success later on this year. Advanced ticket sales for Doomsday are claimed to be about 65% ahead of the pace set by Brand New Day’s ticket presales, suggesting a very strong showing. What’s even more surprising is that Doomsday tickets have opened four months ahead of the film’s release much later this year, while Brand New Day opened its preorders about a month and a half ahead of that film’s release. Such a strong rush right out of the gate suggests that Doomsday could do even better than Spidey’s latest blockbuster.

Meanwhile, the apparent success of Warner Bros. Dune: Part Three has to be measured on a different scale, as the ticket presales available at this time are for just 38 theatres which will be showing the film’s IMAX 70mm cut. Where Disney is pushing Infinity Vision as their own unique format for the next installment of the MCU, Dune’s dominance of IMAX appears assured as sources claim showings for the special IMAX version of Dune: Part Three are selling out dozens of screenings in the film’s opening weeks.
We’ll have to see if either studio, Disney or Warner Bros., makes a public statement as to the apparent presale success of their respective film, given they are releasing on the same day and a showdown of the blockbusters is looming. As of yet, neither side responded to The Wrap’s request for comment.
