Ncuti Gatwa's First Outing In 'Doctor Who' To Premiere In May

Ncuti Gatwa returns as the Fifteenth Doctor in a new season of Doctor Who. Introduced in the last of the 60th Anniversary Specials, this new Doctor will fully start his adventures through time on May 10.

Millie Gibson stars alongside Gatwa as companion Ruby Sunday, with the two having met during Christmas Special ‘The Church on Ruby Road’. The first-ever season of Doctor Who to launch simultaneously worldwide, the first two episodes will be available on Disney+ at 19:00 ET. The only exception is the UK, where the BBC iPlayer will premiere the episodes at midnight GMT before the regular broadcast of the series on Saturdays.

For this new season, plenty of adventures are sure to be had, with the official description stating that it, “follows the Doctor and Ruby Sunday through infinite adventures across time and space in the TARDIS. From the Regency era in England to war-torn futures, the duo champion the forces of good while encountering incredible friends and dangerous foes.”

The showrunner of the season, Russell T Davies, said of the season, “At last, it’s my great delight to unleash a whole new season of the Doctor and Ruby’s adventures together. Monsters! Chases! Villains! Mysteries! And a terrifying secret that’s been spanning time and space for decades. Don’t miss a second!” That’s certainly enough to get one excited, but what about seeing it? The trailer for the new season will arrive on March 22.
