Respawn Entertainment just revealed new design details for the upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Survivor two months ahead of its release. The highly anticipated sequel to the fan-favorite Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will feature an expanded world and exciting new gameplay options.

Unlike its predecessor, Survivor will feature an open-world design, where players can traverse freely without confinement to predetermined areas or quests. The game will introduce players to the planet Koboh with opportunities to explore side content in addition to missions for the main storyline. While players will not be required to explore these side activities, they will have opportunities to unlock rewards and optimizations for Cal Kestis on his journey through the game.

IGN recently released gameplay footage revealing the landscape of Koboh from Cal’s point of view. The game begins with a linear model, but soon opens up to a landscape that affords players the ability to explore new adventures on their way through the game’s storyline. Within these paths, players may encounter boss fights, puzzle rooms, and other activities that cannot be accessed until Cal has the right upgrades.

Electronic Arts Star Wars Twitter page also revealed a first look at the Obi-Wan Kenobi-themed preorder cosmetic pack that will unlock new looks for Cal when the game releases.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor launches on April 28th, 2023.
