New Promotional Banner For 'Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire' Promises A Rematch Between The Popular Titans

We’ve gotten our first look at the upcoming MonsterVerse Film ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’ courtesy of a new promotional banner for the recent North American International Toy Fair in New York City.

While details about the latest film in Legendary’s MonsterVerse are scarce, it promises to reunite the two iconic titans to battle against a new threat and will be a sequel to the 2021 film Godzilla vs Kong, which saw the two kaiju go head-to-head amidst the creation of Mechagodzilla. Godzilla vs Kong earned over $400 million at the worldwide box office amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and a simultaneous release on Max. (known as HBOMax at the time of its release)

Adam Wingard, who directed the aforementioned Godzilla vs Kong, returns to direct Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, with Tom Holkenborg aka Junkie XL returning to compose the score for the film.

While the next MonsterVerse movie is still some time away, not releasing until April 2024, fans will have plenty to look forward to in the meantime. The very first MonsterVerse TV series, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, begins streaming on Apple TV+ next month on November 17th. On top of that, Toho’s Godzilla Minus One releases in American theaters on December 1st.
