Amid fears of price hikes in the technology market due to tariffs, one thing is still going as planned. Nintendo has confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 will hit the market starting at $449.99, the price it was announced to be earlier this month. Preorders are now on track to begin on April 24, 2025, with the console’s full release remaining on June 5, 2025, in most markets. The accessories for the console are a slightly different story. In a news update, Nintendo explained, “Nintendo Switch 2 accessories will experience price adjustments from those announced on April 2 due to changes in market conditions.”
The company also warned, “Other adjustments to the price of any Nintendo product are also possible in the future depending on market conditions.” For now, the products have their suggested retail price. The console and Mario Kart World Bundle is set for $499.99, and the game itself is listed at $79.99. Other products include Donkey Kong Bananza at $69.99, the Pro Controller at $84.99, Joy-Con 2 Pair for $94.99, Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip for $39.99, the Wheel Set for $24.99, and the strap for $13.99. There are also multiple care accessories, as well as a console-specific microSD card to browse.

The Nintendo Switch 2 is the successor of the first Switch console. The console differs in several key ways from its predecessor, including a larger size, higher resolution screen, and a GameChat feature accessible by pressing the C button. The console is reportedly backwards compatible with most Switch games, though specific ones should be checked for compatibility. The Nintendo Switch and its games are still available for purchase at this time.
