Pedro Pascal might be the only one privy to what the future holds for The Mandalorian and his son, Grogu. For the record, Pascal wants their story to continue, and he believes there are many Mando and Grogu stories left to be told. In a new interview, the actor discussed the future of his character, and he says he can see where the story goes for Din Djarin and Grogu after The Mandalorian and Grogu. Pascal can “see a next chapter” and says, “I hope for a next chapter. There isn’t really enough we can get out of Mando and Grogu, especially as a duo. Along with that, the world that Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have built within this specific timeline just has so much Star Wars opportunities of Star Wars storytelling.”

The movie has an 89% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes from fans, but there’s clearly a divide between fan and critical reception. The critics have given it a 62% fresh rating on the Tomatometer, and fans on social media have expressed dissatisfaction with reviews for the movie. On IMDb, which has a terrible reputation for downvotes dating back to the prequel trilogy, the film is currently holding steady with a solid 7/10 rating based on 21k votes. Fans, especially families and kids, really enjoyed the movie. Whether a positive reception from fans will result in a fourth season or a sequel to the movie remains to be seen. For now, it doesn’t look like creator Jon Favreau is leaving Star Wars. Favreau has been honest about how well he and Dave Filoni get along, and their creative chemistry shows in the movie. Filoni served as the second unit director on The Mandalorian and Grogu and oversaw the puppeteering work, which accounted for a significant portion of the movie. With Filoni as the co-President, Favreau can certainly hope that he won’t be rushed out the door, and the next chapter can unfold how and when he wants it to.
