The release dates of both upcoming Avengers movies have been pushed back several months from their original May dates. Avengers: Doomsday will now be released on December 18, 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars will be released on December 17, 2027. This puts both films at a release during the holiday season and is about a seven-month difference from the original release dates. Opening the production and post-production timelines ahead of time gives more flexibility for the film’s creation; as these are reportedly some of the “biggest films ever made,” the more time there is to work on them, the better for quality.
Plot specifics of both films are being kept tightly under wraps at this time. Robert Downey Jr. will return to the MCU to portray Doctor Doom in these films. Other members of the cast confirmed for Doomsday (2026), according to IMDb, include Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Vanessa Kirby, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Tenoch Huerta, and Pedro Pascal, among many others. The Russo brothers are directing both films.
