Just as Sonic Rumble was about to speed to the finish line, the mobile title hit a snag. Sonic Rumble was set to have its global launch on May 8th after going through two pre-launch periods in various territories late last year. However, the decision was made to delay the global release, with no new release date being revealed at this time. The announcement was made on social media on April 30th:

With this delay, it seems the team is taking its time to refine the 1.2 update that will come with the global launch. This new update will introduce several features, including Crews, Rumble Ranking, and character skills. The game has already gained 1.4 million pre-registrations and has a high ranking in the app stores where the game is already available. Though those countries will continue to enjoy the title and the events that have already occurred and are occurring during their pre-launch period, those in the United States and the UK will have to wait just a bit longer. How long has yet to be revealed, however. Still, the hope is that SEGA and Rovio will use this extra time to refine and tweak the game and its new features, giving the game the polish it deserves.
