Sony Reveals Gameplay For New 'Wolverine' Game

The gameplay trailer for the upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine game was recently revealed at Sony’s latest State of Play event. Marvel’s Wolverine, which is being developed by Insomniac Games (the same team behind the critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man titles), is a gory, thrilling, and action-packed open-world action title, and this trailer definitely shows it off. In the trailer, the adamantium-clawed hero is seen taking down various enemies, from small fry goons to big boss super villains, all taken down in a glorious, gory fashion. Characters revealed in the trailer include Mystique, Omega Red, and Sentinel, whom Wolverine is seen facing off against.

Wolverine is seen traversing many locations as well, including the Canadian wilderness, Tokyo, and Madrapoor. Insomniac says that they built the game “around staying true to the Wolverine experience” while also putting their own stamp on it. Liam McIntyre (known for portraying JD Venix in the Gears of War series) portrays Logan/Wolverine in the game, and the actor sees this as one of the greatest honors and responsibilities of his life, in addition to being “one of the coolest things I’ve ever got to do.” More details regarding the game will be revealed in the Spring of next year. Marvel’s Wolverine is set to release in Fall 2026 exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
