Squid Game captivated Netflix viewers with its psychological thriller premise and is currently one of most-streamed shows on the platform. In the series, desperate people struggling with debt are locked into a facility and then forced to play games. The catch is there is only one winner and the rest would die. Season 2 saw a former winner come back to play again with the true motive of taking down the organization. Now, Netflix has dropped the trailer for season 3.
The trailer shows Pink Guards bringing in what looks like a gift-wrapped coffin, but when they open the lid, Player 456, the person inside, opens his eyes. The players receive colored balls that assign them to teams, and a mother and son realize that they will have to compete against each other. Outside of the game arena, Jun-Ho begins his search for the island where the games are located. The teaser ends with a mysterious sound effect of a baby crying. The trailer’s tagline read, “It’s time to play one last time.” Given the series’ prior success and the established fanbase, Netflix should have no trouble turning a profit with the new season. Squid Game Season 3 premieres on the platform on June 27. Check out the full trailer below.
