James Gunn’s Superman (2025) is coming off its theatrical run, and its direct follow-up already has updates! The sequel to the film has been given the subtitle Man of Tomorrow. There will be a bit of a wait for its release; Man of Tomorrow is currently slated to hit theaters on July 9, 2027. Gunn announced this on X, attaching an image of comic book Lex Luthor in a version of his warsuit standing next to Superman to the post. This is a tool the antagonist made to face Superman himself.
Little is known plot-wise about Man of Tomorrow (2027), though based on the image associated with the film, Lex will likely clash with the titular hero once again. Gunn is tied to the film as both writer and director. Man of Tomorrow (2027) is currently set to be the fourth film installment to Chapter One: Gods and Monsters of the DCU, and the seventh installment overall.
