It’s a good year for Spider-Man fans. In July, they;re getting the fourth Tom Holland-led Spider-Manfilm in the MCU. Two months before that, Sony is treating them to a Spider-Noirseries, and they’re celebrating the release with a new trailer. The show’s official synopsis says the series, “tells the story of Ben Reilly (Nicolas Cage), a seasoned, down on his luck private investigator in 1930s New York, who is forced to grapple with his past life, following a deeply personal tragedy, as the city's only superhero.”
The trailer opens with Nicholas Cage as Ben Reilly narrating, “Every mystery forms a complex web. But pull the right strand…and it’s a straight line to the answer.” The trailer then cuts to superpowered individuals, and a newspaper with the headline: Monsters Attack Cops. Someone approaches Ben’s detective agency to hire him to find her missing friend. Audiences then see several fight scenes and their first glimpse of Cage in the iconic mask.
