The Mandalorian and Grogu is less than a month away, and tickets are already on sale for Star Wars’ return to the big screen for the first time since The Rise of Skywalker. The Pedro Pascal-led film will mark The Mandalorian’s transition from Disney+ to cinemas, a shift that comes with different expectations. A few weeks ago, predictions for the movie had it opening to a dismal $70 to 85 million over the 3-day Memorial Day weekend. However, the most recent forecast from Box Office Pro now projects a potential $90-100 million opening, based on current trends.

There is still time left for these projections to change, either for or against the Jon Favreau-directed film. Currently, The Mandalorian and Grogu’s world tour is set to start today at CCXP Mexico 2026, which promises to showcase the movie and feature plenty of surprises. After Mexico, the team will be off on a whirlwind tour that will take them around the world, to cities like Paris, London, Madrid, Berlin, Tokyo, New York City, and Los Angeles. The movie’s main star, Pedro Pascal, recently wrapped filming on his next movie, De Noche. Pascal is now free to join the promotional tour, and he is expected to be joined by Jon Favreau, Sigourney Weaver, and possibly Grogu. Jeremy Allen White may also be a part of the world tour, but this has yet to be confirmed. Apart from Pascal, Weaver, and White, the majority of the cast is being kept a secret. Three-time Academy Award winner Ludwig Göransson is back as the film’s composer. Burger King recently announced that a menu inspired by the movie is coming to the fast food chain on May 4th, for Star Wars Day. The Mandalorian and Grogu hits theaters on May 22.
