The roles of real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren were brought to life by Tony and Golden Globe nominee Patrick Wilson and Academy Award nominee Vera Farmiga, respectively. They debuted in James Wan’s original Conjuring film in 2013. and reprised their roles in all 3 mainline sequels; The Conjuring 2, The Devil Made Me Do It, and Last Rites, as well as the spin-off film Annabelle Comes Home. Farmiga and Wilson’s portrayals of the Warrens have consistently earned critical praise, even as the main series saw its overall reception decline following the second film. Their performances and chemistry have not only solidified their status as horror icons, but they’re also frequently cited as the driving force behind the enduring success and longevity of The Conjuring Universe, which has earned over $2 billion over its 13 year run.Last Rites, which was released last year, saw unprecedented success with a nearly $500 million worldwide gross and becoming the 5th highest-grossing horror film of all time.
