The Director Of DC Studios' 'The Flash' Releases Behind-The-Scenes Photos Showing Off Central City
The DC Universe is in quite a shakeup, as the new helmsmen, James Gunn and Peter Safran, are preparing their long-term plans for the franchise for Warner Bros. Discovery boss David Zaslav. Though no details of these plans are known right now (and probably won’t be for some time), there are already a few "victims", who don't seem to fit into Gunn's and Safran's vision for the Expanded DC Universe going forward:
Henry Cavill most probably will not return as Superman, nor will Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam. Patty Jenkins’ plans for the third installment of Wonder Woman seem to be in limbo at best. One movie that will see the light of day in 2023 is Andy Muschietti's The Flash, and the director has now shared a behind-the-scenes photo of a seemingly more shady part of Central City.

Central City is the fictitious municipality in Missouri and the hometown of Barry Allen/The Flash. The movie, which has a release date of June 16, will be based on the popular Flashpoint comic from 2011, in which Allen travels back in time to prevent the murder of his mother, thus creating an alternate timeline.
Aside from Ezra Miller, who will reprise his role as the titular character from Justice League, The Flash will feature Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as two separate versions of Batman, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Michael Shannon as General Zod, Antje Traue as Faora-Ul and Sasha Calle as Supergirl.
There is reportedly already a script for a sequel to The Flash by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (Aquaman). But with Gunn's and Safran's upcoming plans and the various legal charges raised against Miller, who is seeking treatment for mental health issues, it remains to be seen if there will be a place for this version of the fastest man in the DC Universe in the future.
