Marvel Entertainment dropped the first official trailer for Ironheart late last week, and it looks like a summer adventure Marvel fans aren’t going to want to miss. This new mini-series from executive producer Ryan Coogler (Sinners, Black Panther, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) will debut in June on Disney+ with a three-episode premiere. Created by Chinaka Hodge (Amazing Stories) and directed by Samantha Bailey (You're So Talented) and Angela Barnes (Atlanta), the six-episode season stars Dominique Thorne (If Beale Street Could Talk) as the titular character alongside Anthony Ramos (Hamilton, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts) and Alden Ehrenreich (Solo: A Star Wars Story). Fans were, of course, introduced to Thorne’s Riri Williams in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022).

Considering that Marvel fans grieved 3,000 when Tony Stark/Iron Man made the ultimate sacrifice, saving his wife, team, and the whole world in Avengers: Endgame, the MCU has felt the loss in spades. Ryan Coogler describes Ironheart as having “an energy to it,” and thinks “people will take to that scrappy optimism and that desire to persevere.”

While the similarities between Riri and Tony are apparent, so are their differences. She is a far cry from a billionaire playboy philanthropist, and after the events of Wakanda Forever, is more determined now than ever to blaze her own trail and make a positive mark on the world through technology. Check out the trailer below to see for yourself, and don’t forget to watch the premiere on Disney+ on June 24, 2025!
