The first two episodes of Trigun Stargaze were shown for the very first time at NYCC. Not only did fans get to see the first two episodes of the series, but they also attended a panel featuring the various people who worked on the show.
The panel featured Yasuhiro Nightow, the creator of the Trigun manga, the series director, Masato Sako, producer Yota Shirasu, and producer Yoshihiro Watanabe. The first question was for the creator of the manga, Nightow-san. He was asked what his thoughts were after watching the show, and the different turn it took from the manga. He said that so many elements still represented Trigun and that the director put everything they had into it, and it was amazing. He appreciates how fans rediscovered the manga after falling in love with Vash in Trigun Stampede. He finishes by saying it's nice that they can all love the same but different Vash's.
Next was for Sato-san, who joined on for Stargaze, and was asked about the audience reaction. She said that it's been amazing how fans have reacted. There have been too many cons and talked to so many fans, who have all had so much passion when it comes to the show. Another was about how Vash and Knives will be portrayed in this chapter. A lot of intense stuff is going to happen to them, and how the two end up clashing together. It went back to Nightow-san, who admitted that he's been enjoying what he's been seeing with Stargaze. He ends the panel by saying that he feels that the staff has presented him with a bright light, and that he feels himself rediscovering Trigun again.

The first two episodes were very good. We got to see the aftermath of Lost July and what happened to Vash the Stampede. The animation was gorgeous, and so was the music. We got to see Millie, who has since joined Meryl, in action, someone who was missing from the first season, and it was wonderful to finally see her. The second episode was very emotional, but had a good ending. I can’t wait to see where the rest of this series goes. Fans definitely have a lot to look forward to in this new series.
Trigun Stargaze premieres January 1st, 2026.
