Star Wars fans who follow the publishing side of the franchise have been eagerly awaiting New York Comic lasCon 2025 for the Lucasfilm Publishing Presentation. While there have been releases on the horizon for a while now, like the upcoming Star Wars Outlaws tie-in Low Red Moon, concern has grown about the lack of news on the Marvel comic front, as well as the vast void of even teases for what will be coming in 2026. New York Comic-Con has often proven fruitful in new reveals, or at least teases, about the coming year’s releases, and fans have been rewarded with some fun new reveals!

Following some light discussion with the different authors and the writing process for upcoming stories like The Last Order, Lucasfilm uncharacteristically dove into their reveals early. They started with Pathfinder, a new series set 20 years after Phase 2 of The High Republic, which will be written by George Mann and is likely to follow a team of Republic Pathfinders. Character sheets for the two seemingly main Jedi were shown off, with the older Master of the duo clearly drawing on early concept art for Phase 1 of The High Republic for a Merlin-like character with his alien avian companion. It is unclear if this figure will be similarly Merlin-like, but the arrival of Phase More so quickly is a welcome surprise.

Following a look at The Art of The Acolyte, the upcoming Doug Chiang book compiling his extensive history of work at ILM, a book all about ILM, and a brief note on the upcoming Master of Evil, they also confirmed next year as the release date for an art book focused on the complete series of Andor. Last of the major book-based reveals was the cover of Star Wars: Legacy, previously revealed via a book listing earlier this week, and now confirmed as a Sequel Trilogy story. It will be set between Episodes 8 and 9, and focus on Rey’s Jedi training with Leia.

The pace picked up as the panel transitioned into discussing comments, giving previews for various ongoing series, but also making some surprising announcements like the existence of an upcoming Jar Jar Binks comic! Set to also feature Kellaran Beq, the series will be written by Ahmed Best and Marc Guggenheim, and does not currently have a release date.

In a sudden final burst of activity, a series of kid-focused releases featuring Grogu were revealed alongside an Art of The Mandalorian and Grogu book to give us a look at behind the scenes of the upcoming film. However, the reveals did not stop there. At the last possible minute, both a new Star Wars Visions novel called Tsukumo and a new Star Wars YA novel were unveiled. The Visions novel is more easily explained, but it appears detached from any existing short for the soon-to-be three-season-long series. The YA novel, meanwhile, is entitled Eyes Like Stars and is written by Ashley Ponto. It appears to be part of a new branding initiative by Star Wars, as the cover artwork clearly has a yellow banner at the bottom calling it “A Star Wars Romance Novel”.

CultureSlate will discuss many of these reveals in the coming days, as the surprising variety of material is sure to have something for every kind of Star Wars fan.
