The long wait for The Mandalorian Visual Guide is over, and new details have emerged from it about the series and its key characters, including fresh information that appears to back a long-standing theory about the true identity of The Armorer. While fans should buy a copy of the Visual Guide to read everything it reveals about the series, The Holo Files has a good summary for anyone who wants to know what to expect. The Visual Guide has given the canon name of the information overlays Mandalorians can see through their visors. These are aptly called ‘Mandovision’.

Din Djarin’s first pauldron, seen on his original armor, belonged to a Shoretrooper. Shoretroopers were first seen in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and later on, appeared in The Mandalorian and Andor. The Visual Guide canonizes and gives names to the various Nevarro Mandalorians and Clans. A lot of these clans share names with characters from Knights of the Old Republic. The most intriguing information in the Visual Guide seems to hint that The Armorer might be Rook Kast. Rook Kast is a character fans have known since The Clone Wars, and she also appears with Maul in the first two episodes of Maul - Shadow Lord. The Visual Guide hints that the Armorer may have been a member of the Shadow Collective by referring to the horns on her helmet as "Faux cranial horns, a reminder of the past.” Only time will reveal if Maul - Shadow Lord could provide The Armorer’s backstory if she is, in fact, Rook Kast.

The Visual Guide also confirms that the Kyber crystal for the Darksaber was found on Ilum. It sheds light on where Captain Pellaeon’s loyalties lie. Pellaeon sees Grand Admiral Thrawn as the true heir to the Empire. The Visual Guide spends some time on the Shadow Council and their motivations, including Moff Gideon’s personal ambitions and Project Necromancer. It confirms that Gideon is behind all the rumors of Mandalore being uninhabitable. The Mandalorian Visual Guide is on sale in the U.K and will be available for purchase in the U.S. on May 26.
