One of the biggest shows of 2025 is returning sooner than we think! The premiere date for season 2 of the hit Hulu series Chad Powers has been revealed!
The series centers on Russ Holliday, a quarterback whose career is ruined after losing a championship game. After 8 years, Russ gets back into football, disguised as a new player named Chad Powers. The series stars Glen Powell as the titular Chad Powers, Perry Mattfeld, Quentin Plair, Wynn Everett, Frankie Rodriguez, and Steve Zahn. Powell also co-created the series with Michael Waldron, who is best known for his work on Loki, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. Waldron also directed the season one finale.
The series premiered on September 30th, 2025, to mixed reviews from critics. While critics praised the performances of the cast (particularly Powell), the direction (particularly Waldron’s on the finale), visual style, and Natalie Holt’s musical score, they were critically of the show’s tone and negatively compared it to Ted Lasso. Despite this, the series earned Glen Powell a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor – Television Series Musical or Comedy. The series frequently ranked #1 on both Hulu and Disney+ for its most-watched programs, making it one of Hulu’s most successful shows in recent memory.
