Peacock Will Be Available Through YouTube Premium In New Deal

Amid attempts to acquire companies and streaming changes in the entertainment industry, a partnership is evolving. YouTube and Peacock are expanding their partnership to reach more consumers. Peacock will be integrated into the YouTube Premium membership at no additional charge and will be a purchasable add-on through YouTube Primetime Channels. A YouTube Premium membership is $15.99 per month before tax or $159.99 per year, while the family plan is $26.99 per month and the student plan is $8.99 per month. To add Peacock Premium to Primetime Channels is $10.99 before tax. Peacock will be available through YouTube Premium in early 2027.

Co-CEO of Peacock and NBCUniversal’s parent company Comcast, Mike Cavanagh, commented on the company's excitement for this partnership, “We’re excited to deepen our relationship with YouTube through a collaboration that reflects our strategy of partnering with industry leaders to drive sustained growth for NBCUniversal.”

On the side of YouTube, CEO Neal Mohan expressed excitement for this venture, “We’re incredibly excited to expand our partnership with NBCUniversal to redefine what a modern entertainment subscription can be for consumers.” He continued, expanding on the viewing opportunity this presents for consumers, “YouTube Premium brings your favorite creators, artists and cultural moments together uninterrupted, and now, we’re pairing that ultimate viewing experience with Peacock’s expansive lineup…This makes it easier than ever for our members to find and watch all the premium content they love, all in one place.”

Chief Business Officer Mary Ellen Coe expounded on how this will help the business side of both YouTube and NBCUniversal, “This partnership with NBCUniversal is a great example of how we can grow YouTube’s subscription business alongside our key partners…Together, we are expanding NBCU's content presence on YouTube, building a sustainable growth engine for both of our companies, and collaborating across streaming distribution, advertising and live sports production.” New eyes will be brought to the content Peacock and NBCUniversal has to offer, and consumers will have a new reason to get YouTube Premium to lower their overall number of paid subscriptions.
