Stranger Things: The First Shadow, the play prequel to the hit series, is being filmed for a professional release on Netflix. Most of the original Broadway cast is returning; as a reminder, their final performance will be on March 29th. The bad news is that this will be affecting performances of the play, specifically shows on February 10 through 14, so fans looking to watch the play live will have to keep that in mind. Still, it’s great news that the play will be more readily available to people, as theatre remains notoriously inaccessible to significant portions of the audience.

Stranger Things: The First Shadow is based on a concept by Duffer Brothers, Jack Thorne, and Kate Trefry , the latter of whom penned the play. It focuses on the backstory of Henry Creel, better known as Vecna, and how he became the imposing mastermind of the Upside Down. The current Broadway cast includes Louis McCartney as Henry Creel (returning from the West End production), Rosie Benton as Virginia Creel, Alex Breaux as Dr. Brenner, and T.R. Knight as Victor Creel among others. With Music by D.J. Walde and set and costume designs by Miriam Buether and Brigitte Reiffenstuel, respectively, it's sure to be a treat for any Stranger Things fan.
