This past week season 2 of the DisneyPlus Show Loki came to its conclusion. Following the show fans quickly began to speculate on the future of the character and the franchise. But now it appears that this epic ending may be the last time that we see Tom Hiddleston’s character in the MCU.

On Friday, Tom Hiddleston appeared on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. During the interview, Hiddleston commented that the show was a conclusion to 14 years of his life. Hiddleston was first hired to play Loki when he was 29 years old and is now 41 years old. He also indicated that the show brought his character from the movies and TV shows “full circle”.

Following the conclusion of the episode fans were speculating whether there would be a season 3 of Loki or possibly even a Thor and Loki team-up film. This also raises questions about how Marvel may go forward with projects such as Avengers: Kang Dynasty and Avengers Secret Wars. Despite all the uncertainty the future is uncertain and you never know where Marvel’s greatest trickster may return.
