At long last, the next chapter in the Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway trilogy is finally on the horizon, as Bandai Namco Filmworks finally announced the US release for Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe.
The announcement comes from a brief exclusive trailer released by IGN, giving audiences a glimpse at some of the mecha action that will unfold in this sequel film, and revealing that The Sorcery of Nymph Circe will hit American theaters on May 15th. Previous trailers also revealed that the film will include music by Japanese artists SennaRin and Alexandros, as well as American artists Guns N’ Roses and SZA.
This comes nearly five years after the release of Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway, which continued the narrative threads left from the 1988 film Char’s Counterattack, focusing on Hathaway Noa and his sharp turn against the Earth Federation, delivering intense mecha action and the deep political intrigue that has become synonymous with Mobile Suit Gundam, blending sci-fi and mecha with a high-stakes spy thriller.
The Sorcery of Nymph Circe first released in Japan this past January, and was praised by fans of the franchise and general audiences, delivering on the years of anticipation and seeing how Hathaway’s story evolves, as well as how he confronts the demons of his past, seeing how the trailer briefly sees him facing the ghost of Amuro Ray and his V-Gundam from Char’s Counterattack.
Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe releases in US Theaters on May 15th. Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway is available to stream worldwide on Netflix.
