Ryan Coogler's 'The X-Files' Reboot Script Gets First Reaction From Gillian Anderson And Hints At Her Return

The Truth is out there… but that’s not important right now. Ryan Coogler’s The X-Files reboot script has been seen by some interesting eyes, including Scully herself, Gillian Anderson. In an interview with Dory Jackson, Anderson stated about the Coogler project, “Yeah, we’ve had a few conversations. He’s such a cool guy and so talented, and the pilot script is really good. I’d say have an open mind and give it a chance, because it’s going to be F____ing cool. And it’s something different. It’s not, you know, it’s different and it’s special. So give it a shot.” This possibly hints at Anderson’s return. But in what form?
Ryan Coogler's The X-Files reboot has recently cast Danielle Deadwyler as the co-lead. Apart from that, not much is known at the moment about the project. This raises the question that this “reboot” could be specifically a relaunch, and Anderson could return as Scully. Of course, it could be a full reboot, in which case Anderson could just have a small cameo as a different character. Regardless of whether or not she’s even returning, Coogler is working with Jennifer Hale to produce a pilot for Hulu, which could lead to a full project. What happens next? We’ll let you now ahead of time.
