VR and Star Wars are two of the things most commonly associated with nerd culture, so it would only be natural for a Star Wars VR to be popular with a lot of fans. Industrial Light & Magic, also known as ILM, is soon going to be giving fans the opportunity to speed ahead in a podracer, similar to Anakin Skywalker did in possibly the most iconic scene in The Phantom Menace. The lucky first fans to experience this exciting opportunity will be the ones who make it out to Japan for Celebration 2025.
The player will get to strap themselves into a podracer, with the familiar character of Sebulba speaking to them, and have three different modes to enjoy their VR adventure. The first of these modes is adventure mode, where the player sees the career of Volo, a new podracer whom Sebulba takes under his wing. Those who aren’t as into storytelling and prefer to jump right into the action will likely prefer the arcade mode for more thrills. Those who want to put their own signature Star Wars moments on their screens might want to check out playset mode.
