The V/H/S series has seen a major revival in the past few years. It started as a basic found footage anthology series with segments of varying quality, but once the horror streaming service Shudder got hold of it, the full potential was unlocked. We’ve seen yearly installments for the past few Octobers, and this year is no different. The next film in the series had already been announced, but it wasn’t until recently that we finally got a little more.

The eighth film, once again released on Shudder, will be titled V/H/S/Halloween, in keeping with the Shudder films having themes, such as last year’s space-themed film. While we don’t have any details on the film itself, we do know the directors, including Brian M. Ferguson of Pumpkin Guts and Paco Plaza of REC fame. The V/H/S series has always been a fun playground for some smaller horror directors, so we’re sure to be in for a good time.

Given the title, it’s obvious that most, if not all, of the segments will be centered around the titular holiday, which is naturally the best time for the spooky. One of the series’ most respected segments, 10/31/98 takes place on Halloween, so to get a full film where several great directors get let loose..

V/H/S/Halloween is due to release on Shudder on October 3rd, 2025.
