Voice Cast Announced For Netflix's Upcoming 'Skull Island' Animated Series

Netflix is gearing up for its Skull Island, an animated series set in Legendary Television’s monsterverse. The streaming studio recently released a trailer for the series which will focus on shipwrecked characters trying to find their way off a dangerous and mysterious island. When the characters rescue Annie from the ocean, their heroics lead them to Skull Island, where King Kong resides.

In addition to the new trailer, Netflix announced its voice cast for the series. Nicolas Cantu will play the role of the main protagonist Charlie, while Mae Whitman of Family Guy and Avatar: The Last Airbender fame will voice Annie. Darren Barnett will take on the role of Mike while Benjamin Bratt and Betty Gilpin lend their voices to Cap and Irene.

Brian Duffield, the writer and executive producer for Skull Island, teamed up with Jacob Robinson, Brad Graeber, Jen Chambers, and Thomas Tull as executive producers for the series, with Powerhouse in charge of the animation. Legendary Television is also producing an animated Netflix series based on Square Enix’s Tomb Raider game trilogy, which takes place directly after the events of the games.

Skull Island releases on Netflix on June 22. Check out the teaser trailer below.
