You Could Own A Piece Of Official 'Star Wars' Memorabilia Thanks To Anthony Daniels

Anthony Daniels, the actor behind C-3PO, is auctioning off almost all of the Star Wars memorabilia he has collected over the years of playing the iconic character. The most valuable item up for sale is the gold C-3PO helmet he wore in 1977’s Star Wars: A New Hope. It is estimated to sell for up to £1m.
There are also props and scripts, including pieces of the Millenium Falcon. Daniels says he rescued the Millenium Falcon pieces from a bonfire held after the filming of Return of the Jedi. The scripts, which were used for dubbing, have Daniels own notes on them.

As for why the 77-year-old actor is selling his memorabilia now, he says, “I realized I had these items and they're not unloved, but they are unlooked at - we don't have them crowding the sitting room.” He went on to say, “Will I feel sad to part with them? No. I will enjoy the fact people will cherish and display them.” Daniels will be keeping some pieces that are especially special to him. These include a Lego brick statue he received for participating in a Lego Star Wars project and a small statue of C-3PO designed to look like an Oscar.
Propstore will hold the auction at BAFTA’s Piccadilly home in London. It is to run from Thursday until Sunday with most of the items sold on Saturday. Daniels will attend. He seems content with his decision, saying, “In a curious way it means more to them than it does to me, because I have the real memories - I was there.”
