"Nobody goes off-trail, and nobody walks alone." We have received a report that the Harfoots will be taking a “backseat” in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3. A nomadic group of Hobbits, the Harfoots played a key role in seasons 1 and 2, during which they found Gandalf and joined the Stoors. Now it seems like their time is done… for now, anyway. Showrunner J.D. Payne has stated, “It was time for them to take a little bit more of a backseat, but I will also say: never count a Halfling out.” This does not rule out a comeback, but it remains to be seen. J.D. Payne was also asked about the possibility of a Gollum origin from the Stoors, saying, “We have lots of ideas for future seasons, stay tuned, is all we’d say right now.”
The Rings of Power is gearing up for its third season, which releases in November of this year. As the blurb says, “Five years have passed since the fall of Eregion. Sauron’s armies have marched across the whole of the world, conquering all in their path. Only a few isolated pockets stand between the Dark Lord and total victory…”
