It’s hard to believe that there are only 2 episodes left of The Mighty Nein. The season has been great so far, including the changes that were made from the campaign. I do wish we'd gotten a few more episodes, because I don’t know how they’re going to end this season.

So much happened in this week’s episode, it’s hard to decide where to start. We got to see more of Yasha in the very beginning of the episode, who seems to be killing everyone in her path. She’s not doing it completely willingly, though, as the mark on her neck seems to be controlling her. Our heroes make their way to The Gentleman, who Nathan Fillion voices. He is a crime boss who works out of the Evening Nip tavern in Zadash.

Those who are familiar with the campaign know that this isn’t the only time the group will work for The Gentleman. They take his job and make their way to the location, where they encounter many traps. To succeed and survive, they must work together, much to the dismay of Beau and Caleb, who still don’t trust one another. There’s combat, puzzles, and lots and lots of treasure, which makes it an exciting job for the Nein. Do they succeed? Well, you’ll just have to watch the episode to find out!

Meanwhile, the Cobalt Soul has found out who their traitor is. The traitor is none other than Trent Ikithon, who they eventually capture and hold prisoner. He won’t talk to just anyone and demands to see the King. They give him what he wants, and he and the King go to the front lines. However, he has the beacon, and using what Essek taught him, he is finally able to use the beacon like he wants to. It’s bloody and deadly, and anyone who uses it again does not have a chance.

Even though it was just for a short time, it was great to finally see more of Yasha. In the campaign, Yasha would come and go, as the person who played her, Ashley Johnson, had some other commitments. She eventually becomes a valuable member of the team after confronting and overcoming her oppressor. The cast has said that Yasha would play a bigger role in the animated series, so I am excited to see that as the show goes on.

One of my favorite parts of the campaigns being turned into animated shows is hearing Matthew Mercer’s voice in many different characters. As we know, he voices Essek Thelyss, but also a whole slew of background characters, and it’s always fun to try to find these characters. Another one he is seemingly voicing is Uk’otoa, the voice that Fjord keeps hearing in his mind.

I had ideas about how this season may end, and now I am not so sure. There’s still so much that could happen, and the changes from the campaign to the show don’t make it easy to figure it out, which does make it exciting for those who know the campaign. I am excited to see where the final two episodes take us and what the fate of our heroes will be.
