'The Naked Gun' Spoiler-Free Review

Comedy has never been more back! Okay, that may be a bit of a stretch, but The Naked Gun is proof that comedy is back and better than ever. It’s a hilarious romp that keeps going the entire 1 hour and a half runtime. It never gets old and will have you laughing the entire time.
Liam Neeson plays Lt. Frank Drebin Jr, the son of Frank Drebin, originally played by Leslie Nielsen. He is not your average cop, as he's a member of the organization known as Police Squad. We are first introduced to him during a bank robbery: a lot of these clips were in the trailer.
His methods are very unconventional, but they get the job done. His job eventually leads him to investigate a car crash, which he then connects to the bank robbery. This puts him in the path of Beth Davenport (Pamela Anderson), who is determined to find out who killed her brother. Together, they meet Richard Crane (Danny Huston), who is not only a tech genius but also the movie's villain, a truly classic movie trope. Beth and Frank work together to try to foil Richard’s plans before they can become a reality.

Liam Neeson has an extensive film history, and a lot of them tend to be more serious action roles. It’s nice to see him step into a different genre and have some fun. He was phenomenal in this movie and kept me laughing the entire time. I have loved the recent Pamela Anderson renaissance that’s been happening. She was hilarious in this movie, and she and Liam Neeson had some great chemistry. They played off of each other well and were such a wonderful pair in the movie.
This movie is considered a legacy sequel and is the fourth film in The Naked Gun franchise. It has many callbacks to the previous films. These callbacks are never out of place and are done well. There’s one in particular, toward the beginning of the film, that is hilarious and one of the best in the movie. I think it did a great job in honoring the ones that came before it. The movie also had some great cameos, including one from Weird Al Yankovic.

This movie was hilarious, and the jokes never stopped. It was nonstop laughter throughout. The jokes never fell flat or felt out of place, even the ones that were dragged out. They were done extremely well, and it kept the entire theater laughing. There were also some cute and heartfelt moments, but they tended to be outshone by the comedy.
The Naked Gun is the perfect movie if you’re feeling like you need to laugh, and what better place to do it than laughing with others in a movie theater? It has everything you could want in a comedy and has a perfect runtime. The ridiculous moments give it charm, and Liam Neeson kills it in the main role. If you want a movie that doesn’t take itself seriously, or if you need a pick-me-up, then I recommend taking a trip to your local movie theater to support The Naked Gun.
