9. Return Of The Jedi - Jerjerrod’s Conflict

There are a series of short scenes on the second Death Star centred around an Imperial Officer, Jerjerrod. The poor dude was strangled by Darth Vader and ordered to turn the Death Star’s laser on Endor. Jerjerrod questions firing on the Imperials stationed there long enough for Lando and Wedge to blow the station. If it had been left in, it would have been the first time that audiences would have seen Imperials doubting the rule of the Emperor.
8. Revenge Of The Sith - The Petition Of The 2000

Padmé Amidala had a great arc in Revenge of the Sith (check it out in the novelisation) …but it was left on the cutting room floor. The former Queen became one of the early architects of the rebellion. In this scene, she meets in secret with other senators (including Bail Organa and Mon Mothma) to discuss taking a petition to the Senate floor to protest Palpatine’s emergency powers.
7. Revenge Of The Sith - The Delegation Of The 2000

The second of Padmé’s scenes which should have stayed in the movie. The petition of 2000 senators is presented to Palpatine in the presence of Anakin Skywalker. After she leaves, Palpatine proceeds to pick at Anakin saying that she’s clearly hiding something and can’t be trusted. It lays the groundwork for Anakin’s paranoia on Mustafar as well as advancing Padmé’s character.
6. The Phantom Menace - The Full Pod Race Starting Grid Sequence

Audiences only got to see a few racers in the final cut, but the sequence originally showed every participant, as well as their ships. Although the pod race sequence was long, George Lucas wanted to save time, he could have taken it from the race rather than this light hearted scene.
5. Attack Of The Clones - Padmé’s Family

Once again, George Lucas took a huge chunk out of Padmé’s backstory in this movie. Anakin is taken to meet her family on Naboo, but it never made it to the final cut. The romance is less cheesy in this scene, and the pair feels more natural around each other.
4. The Force Awakens – Kylo Ren Finds the Millennium Falcon.

A short scene of Kylo Ren storming through the Falcon, calling out for his father. A clash of the worlds of Kylo Ren and Ben Solo, a tense moment, and foreshadowing of what is to come.
3. The Last Jedi – The Elevator Scene

The Last Jedi has often been accused of having too many comic beats. But why would you cut the one with Tom Hardy dressed as a stormtrooper? In all seriousness, the short elevator escape is a nod to similar gags in Star Wars: Rebels. It should have stayed.
2. The Last Jedi – Luke Skywalker Mourning Han Solo

When Han Solo passed, Luke Skywalker’s reaction was left on the cutting room floor. This should have stayed, for the fans, for the actors, and for everything the characters had been through together.
1. The Last Jedi - Phasma’s End

Many were disappointed that the Phasma from the books didn’t match the one we saw on screen. A face-off against Finn went some way to correcting that, however, it wasn’t included. The doubt that Finn puts in the minds of the stormtroopers makes this scene particularly watchable. It should absolutely have been in the final cut.
