Exploring The Gaps: Five 'Andor' Stories We Want To See After Season 2

The story structure of Andor Season 2 meant that we jumped months between each episode arc, which each seemed to take just three days. As a result, several questions emerge regarding many characters, as well as storylines and interactions, some fans hoped to see on screen or get referenced to.
While many did not come true, the ball is now in Lucasfilm Publishing’s court to let writers tell some of those stories to help explore the gaps between the episode arcs and mesh the world of Andor into the rest of Star Wars canon. The following five ideas are some of the most immediate storylines CultureSlate thinks would be fun to explore!

5. Cassian’s First Reunion With His Friends And B2EMO

One of the things fans thought the second season of Andor would tackle would be the reunion between Cassian and his erstwhile Ferrix friends after they fled the Empire at the end of Season 1. Instead, Season 2’s first arc appears to state that Cassian had met up with them offscreen, and often lived on Mina-Rau when not running missions with the Axis network.
It would be fascinating to get that initial reunion and unpack the reactions from the different characters to what just happened, but also address what happened to Jezzi, who was responsible for flying Brasso, Brix, Wilmon, and B2EMO off Ferrix. Did she drop them off and return, avoiding punishment? Or did she join them, split off from them, pass away, or get caught at some point? We aren’t certain, so there is a story to tell. This focus could provide some good context for how we get from the moon Cassian mentions they should hide on to living on Mina-Rau.
4. Cinta’s Injury

The second arc in Season 2 of Andor reunited Cinta and Vel after a substantial time apart, suggested by many fans to have been since Leida’s wedding. Fans have also suggested that the serious injury Cinta mentions sustaining was from her presumed killing of Tay Kolma, perhaps crashing the speeder, or when he fought back unexpectedly against her. Exploring the immediate moments after the end of Episode 3 of Season 2 would be interesting if they are connected to those injuries, but if not, a story exploring the context and aftermath of Cinta’s injuries would be intriguing.
Why did she push herself so hard to do something that caused her such significant wounds? Perhaps Luthen or Kleya had Cinta hit a target that was personal to her, or she drew some personal connection neither he nor Kleya was unaware she might, which caused her to drive herself too far on her own or in an unfamiliar team. We can’t say for certain, but a perfect framing device might be that time Cinta mentions where she rested and recuperated, which could smoothly lead to flashbacks and thoughts about the past while she thinks about events before her current situation.
3. Explore The Expansion Of Yavin Base

While we did get to see Yavin 4 during Andor Season 2 and understand more of its history as a result, we are still left with some questions. Primarily, when and how did Massassi Group come to use Yavin 4 as their base of operations? Another question would also be if the Maya Pei Brigade ever got off the planet, and possibly showing the aftermath of that group losing many of its members to the jungle moon’s wildlife. A proper exploration around the Massassi Temples, and more lore being added to the canon civilization that resided on the moon, would also be a good move, since while canon has cleaved the Massassi from Legends lore regarding the Sith, it has not defined anything further.
The Rebels exploring their new home and finding strange mysteries or local wildlife would be an interesting story to tell, and it could even be done in the format of the Tales of Horror anthology series. Instead of Vader’s Castle or the Death Star, it could be groups of Rebels telling spooky stories around the fire, about their first major Base, years later, while on Hoth or elsewhere.
2. Cassian Meets Kallus

One character from Rebels fans hoped or expected we might get a tease of in Andor was Alexsandr Kallus, formerly of the ISB, who ultimately turned on the Empire and became a Fulcrum agent. He later escaped when his undercover mission was compromised and came to reside on Yavin 4. He continued to serve as an agent of Rebel Intelligence over the coming years, and reference information has noted that Cassian was also a Fulcrum agent.
It would be fascinating to see these two characters meet, to have Cassian’s reaction to Kallus’ background, and to have them both on a mission where their contrasting personalities might come into play. Maybe Bix would also come on such a mission, and we could see multiple perspectives on Kallus, or see how Cassian and Bix perform on missions together as that is something we did not see in Season 2.
1. Cassian And K-2SO Adventures

We’ve gotten several stories involving Cassian and K-2SO over the years, but the number is still limited. One of them, a VR experience, isn’t even available to play anymore, so a story focusing on them conducting a successful mission like we see in Andor Season 2’s finale, set before those events, would be great.
Perhaps it could be an adaptation of the idea Tony Gilroy had for a horror film-esque episode focused on K-2, or maybe show the pair interacting with a notable Star Wars character such as Princess Leia. But an ideal story would perhaps be a montage, showing when particular events and past adventures took place in relation to each other, while also teasing possible stories for the future.
The anchor for the story could be a discussion or debate between Cassian and K-2 across the time they know each other, that could link into a detail of Andor, or into something from Rogue One. K-2, with his persistence, could be the one to constantly revisit the topic, sometimes at the most awkward times, helping add a light comedic element to different scenarios as fits the character, while also still possibly tackling a serious or heartfelt situation.
