'3 Doors Down' Singer, Brad Arnold, Dead At 47

Singer and founding member of the band, 3 Doors Down, Brad Arnold, has passed away at the age of 47. The band posted the following message on their Instagram:

Arnold publicly revealed that he had been fighting stage four cancer seven months ago and died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, February 7th, 2026, according to his fellow band members. The group is best known for their song, Kryptonite, which Arnold wrote when he was 15, and became a hit song when it was released in early 2000. The group also performed at the Make America Great Again! Welcome Celebration Concert at the Lincoln Memorial the day before President Donald Trump’s first Inauguration Ceremony in 2017.

Arnold announced that he was battling stage four kidney cancer that had metastasized (spread) to his lungs in May 2025. In his message to fans, Arnold acknowledged that his prognosis was not good, but he seemed determined not to succumb to fear about his condition:

“That’s not real good.” But you know what? We serve a mighty God, and he can overcome anything. So I have no fear. I really, sincerely am not scared of it at all.”

Arnold is survived by his wife, Jennifer.
