Whether for social media clout or following the crowd, the theater audiences of A Minecraft Movie (2025) have been surprisingly rambunctious; from flinging popcorn to bringing live chickens into the crowd, it’s been a lot. Warner Bros. is attempting to take a proactive approach to channeling this problem by putting on special screenings of the film. Friday, May 2, 2025, “Block Party” screenings will be available to attend, welcoming the verbal disruption and chaos to a reasonable degree. As a bonus to Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros., this will potentially spark a bump in ticket sales.
A statement was released to describe the event (via The Hollywood Reporter), “Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures invite fans back to the theater to experience A Minecraft Movie together in a whole new way! You know the moments. You know the lines. You love the songs! Now it’s time to get loose, laugh out loud and belt out those lyrics like a true diamond-tier fan.” This is a specifically labeled event; if you attend one of these Friday screenings, make sure you still respect the property and the theater employees, and maybe leave the poultry at home. The Block Party screenings are this Friday only; check your local theaters for specific ticket information.
