The Dark Knight returns to the world of LEGO video games. WB Games and Traveller’s Tales have unveiled a trailer for the new LEGO Batman game: LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. “Inspired by decades of Batman films, television, comic books, and games,” as the trailer description suggests, the game will feature players exploring Bruce Wayne’s journey as Batman from his early days onward, with gameplay inspired by Rocksteady’s Arkham series. This includes an open-world Gotham City, "detective mode”, and fights against several criminals, and even the Batmobile. Much of the Bat Family and the rogues' gallery are confirmed to come along, and the trailer is down below for readers to check out.

Legacy of the Dark Knight is the latest in a series of LEGO adaptation games. From 2005’s LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game, Traveller’s Tales has been developing LEGO versions of iconic movies, including 2008’s LEGO Batman: The Video Game. Inspired by the Batman franchise in general rather than a specific film or storyline, LEGO Batman became a subseries of its own, spawning 2 sequels and a spinoff game: 2018’s LEGO DC Super-Villains. Legacy of the Dark Knight seems to be a new direction for the series, one which BatFans should eagerly await.
