'Ahsoka' Season 2 Trailer Dropped At D23 Studio Showcase Panel

With rumors of significant Star Wars news at D23 2026, this year did not disappoint fans. After Lucasfilm President and series creator Dave Filoni mounted the stage with actors Rosario Dawson, Hayden Christensen, and Eman Esfandi to discuss some details about Ahsoka’s upcoming second season at the D23 Studio Showcase Panel, they also revealed a teaser trailer.
The trailer looks excellent, featuring plenty of action and surprisingly open reveals about elements of the plot and what appears to be the series’ big set piece: a massive starship battle between Imperial remnant forces led by Thrawn, and the New Republic with forces including Ezra piloting an A-wing. Nightsister witches appear to be aiding Thrawn, boarding vessels in breeching pods, while Ezra will also briefly take a trip down to Dathomir’s surface, seen fighting alongside New Republic troops in a quagmire of misty terrain.

Meanwhile, on Peridea, the trailer kept things a little more vague, but showed us a clear look at further flashbacks into Ahsoka’s past with Anakin, specifically a strange incident in a snowy forest where it appears she and Anakin might have taken down a Jedi gone rogue during the Clone Wars. The Jedi’s extremely unique lightsaber, both for its pale cyan color, and for having dual handgrips but a separated middle section with the blade running through the middle, has also garnered some interest. We additionally got a look at Huyang using his extra arms to wield four lightsabers while facing down Shin Hati on the open plain, while Ahsoka and Sabine are likely elsewhere occupied with a trek into dangerous mountains, facing other threats.
The trailer also coincided with a new poster release, as well as a reveal of the show’s release date. The franchise’s 50th anniversary will start off very strong, as Ahsoka Season 2 begins releasing on January 20th, 2027. The trailer offers a very strong first showing, and we’re excited to hear more news in the coming months.
