Look up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s In…Heroic horns intensify.
The Invincible franchise is expanding at a rapid rate, and fans have every reason to be excited! It was recently announced that the franchise’s first full-length video is on the horizon, titled Invincible Vs. Confirmed by franchise co-creator Robert Kirkman, the game will provide fans with an experience they’ll never forget. Being a three-on-three fighting game, fans will be able to tag team with some of their favorite characters from the franchise. In addition to the title hero, fans will be able to play as many other iconic characters, which will include (but not limited to); Omni-Man, Atom Eve, and Battle Beast. As if it couldn’t get any better, it’s also been confirmed that Steven Yeun and J.K. Simmons will reprise their roles as Invincible and Omni-Man from the animated series. Kirkman also teased a “story component” to the game. The game is being developed by Skybound Games and the newly opened studio, Quarter Up.
The Invincible franchise has enjoyed immense success since the comic was first published in 2003. After 15 years of publication, Invincible was adapted into an animated series for Amazon Prime in 2021. The series has garnered universal critical acclaim and a strong fan following, with a fourth and fifth season on the way. The animated series has helped massively expand the fanbase, and this upcoming video game will be no exception. A live-action film based on the comic is currently being developed for Universal Pictures by Seth Rogen and his frequent collaborator, Evan Goldberg. It seems that Mark Grayson and his ever-expanding universe of heroes and villains show no signs of stopping, as Invincible seems to be aiming for the same pop culture dominance that the likes of Superman, Batman, and Spider-Man have enjoyed over the last few decades.
Invincible Vs will launch in 2026 for Windows, PlayStation, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
