'An Evening With The Hobbits' Tour To Celebrate 'The Lord Of The Rings' 25th Anniversary

Fan Expo is set to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Lord of the Rings movies, which started with The Fellowship of the Ring in 2001. Touring eleven cities across America and Canada during 2026, An Evening with the Hobbits brings Sean Astin, Billy Boyd, Dominic Monaghan, and Elijah Wood together for the reunion.
The event is said to be “more than a reunion and so much more than a panel,” by Fan Expo HQ. Each weekend of the tour, fans can expect “a lively mix of behind-the-scenes memories, on-stage antics, heartfelt reflections, and plenty of laughs along the way. From inside jokes and surprise moments to the friendships that still shine 25 years later, this one-of-a-kind event promises a celebration as unexpected – and joyful – as a Hobbit feast.”
The full list of tour dates can be found below. Not all dates for the tour have been confirmed, though the events it will take place at have. As such, where a date is to be confirmed, the dates of the event have been used instead.

Fan Expo Portland: January 17, 2026, at 19:30 PT
Fan Expo Vancouver: February 14-16, 2026
Megacon Orlando: March 21, 2026, at 19:30 ET
Calgary Comics & Entertainment Expo: April 25, 2026, at 19:30 MT
Fan Expo Denver: May 28-31, 2026
Fan Expo Philadelphia: May 29-31, 2026
Fan Expo Boston: August 8, 2026, at 19:30 ET

This will be a ticketed event, with VIP experiences that include photo opportunities and autograph sessions also available. Exclusive merchandising will be available at each of the tours. There’s even the potential for more guest appearances from The Lord of the Rings cast at Fan Expo events and other celebratory programming. Tickets for the An Evening with the Hobbits tours will be on sale starting October 22, 2025, at 10:00 local time from individual show box offices. Entrance to the convention will be required for access.
Notably, June and July are free from any tour dates at present. That could mean nothing, but The Hunt For Gollum will start shooting in May 2026. Ian McKellen said that the film will include Frodo and Gandalf, so speculation has been that cast members will reprise their roles for this latest outing set during the events of The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
