The Legend of Vox Machina has recruited a surprise guest for season four. The actor who played Gollum in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy and the upcoming The Hunt for Gollum film, Andy Serkis is joining the cast. His role is undisclosed but many fans are assuming he will be Vecna. Due to a few copyright limitations from that other show on Netflix, the showrunners can’t use the name Vecna, so fans have taken to using his moniker, The Whispered One. Past seasons have hinted at the characters, so the theory has credibility. Serkis’ other film roles include Snoke in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, Alfred Pennyworth in The Batman, and Ulysses Klaue in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He made his directing debut with Breathe and is set to direct The Hunt For Gollum.
Season four of The Legend of Vox Machina picks up a year after the events of the previous season, with the characters reeling from a friend’s death. The heroes are scattered around the world, but the rise of a new evil brings them together to take it down. The new season premieres on June 3 on Prime Video, with the streamer releasing three episodes each week. The previous three seasons are currently available on Prime Video.
