Get your yearly bingo cards ready because an iconic game from the past is making a comeback. SEGA’s Ecco the Dolphin (1992) and its sequel, The Tides of Time (1994), are being remastered by the original development team. Not only that, but a new untitled Ecco game is also in development! In an interview with Xbox Wire, game creator Ed Annunziata spoke about the upcoming content.
Annunziata explained that the initial goal of the series was to "create a game that sparked curiosity and respect for the ocean." On the new moves being made, he stated, "Me and the entire original team are going to remaster the original Ecco the Dolphin and Tides of Time games. Then we will make a new, third game with contemporary play and GPU sensibilities." While specific details and release windows have yet to be named, we know Ecco is once again coming back to save the planet.
