Kayou is China’s No. 1 collectibles company and trading card brand. They made their convention debut at NYCC this year and gave fans plenty of experiences. They featured trading cards from My Little Pony, Naruto, and tokidoki. Not only that, but they had plenty of booth experiences fans could take part in, including singings from Maile Flanagan, the voice of Naruto Uzumaki, and Tara Strong, the voice of Twilight Sparkle. Fans who purchased cards at the show also received special gifts with select purchases. CultureSlate was able to get a first-hand look at the cards and what Kayou was showcasing.

They pride themselves on their quality and craftsmanship of their product, and you can tell. The cards are beautiful and each one is unique. It’s not only the card that all the work is put into, but the packaging as well. The collectibles, while not available in the States yet, we did get a preview of what fans can expect when they are released. They have the same love and care put into them that the cards do. Fans definitely have a lot to look forward to.

First up were the My Little Pony cards. This partnership was such a great idea, as it brings in a new audience to the trading card hobby. The packs run for about $3.99 each, which is a great price point for new collectors. Currently, fans can only collect the cards, but there is a trading card game that will be released in 2026. It’s not like regular TCGs, as this one, you choose the characters you want to be, and it’s a race to tell your own story. It’s less about battles and more about going on adventures, and reinforcing that idea of friendship. They showcased a variety of card designs. Some remained true to the cartoon, whereas others had a fun music theme.

Next up were the Naruto cards. Here, they also showcased many different designs. Some stayed true to the anime, whereas others were a bit more special. Recently, it was Naruto’s birthday, so one of the cards had Naruto, with his astrological sign on it, which is Libra.  One of the coolest designs they featured was a more “modern” take on the characters, and had the characters in regular clothes, and in a modern setting. It was easily my favorite of the designs they showcased. Some cards even connect, such as ones with matching borders, or pairs that, when put together, create a full picture. It’s such a cool and clever idea, and it was great to see how they look in person.

Lastly was tokidoki. These also had a variety, with some of the characters being reimagined into a Chinese style. If you manage to get lucky enough and collect all of these particular ones, they will form together into a panoramic train. Others come in dual pairs. Some are even transparent, which you can layer on top of the other cards, to give them an even more unique style.

Kayou has many other brands they have partnered with, but these are the first three to launch in the United States. Trading cards isn’t their only thing, however, as they also deal in collectibles, blind bags, and stationery. While this was their first time in the US market, fans won’t have to wait much longer, as they will start releasing some of their collectible figures in 2026. We got to see some of these in person, and I promise you, they will be worth the wait.
